Make A Nutritious Vegetable Sauce This Weekend With These Steps

A vegetable sauce is a nutritious and easy meal to make. It is healthy for the body and only requires a short period to be ready. Another beautiful thing about this meal is that it is cost-friendly. It is one of the few meals you can make without creating a hole in your pocket.

 

Also, it can be eating with many regular foods like rice, yam, or plantain. However, some people eat it with Garri (Eba). The weekend is here already and it is likely that you are thinking of one simple meal to make since you will probably be out and about.

 

However, if the word “Vegetable sauce” is new to you there is nothing to worry about. Read on to see simple steps on how to prepare it this weekend.

Ingredients

  1. Sliced fresh tomatoes.
  2. Fresh pepper.
  3. Onions.
  4. Seasoning cubes
  5. Assorted meat.
  6. One big bowl of sliced  pumpkin leaf
  7. 3 spoons of ground crayfish.
  8. 200ml vegetable oil.
  9. Salt.

  1. Wash and slice the tomatoes,  pepper, onions and set them aside in a plate.
  2. Wash the pumpkin and slice to a tiny bit. It is best to properly wash the leaves before you slice them.
  3. Parboil the meat with two seasoning cubes, half a cup of sliced onions, allow simmering for 5 minutes, add a cup of water and cook for more 30 minutes. Add half teaspoon of salt and cook till the meat softens
  4. Set your cooking pot on heat, add 250ml of vegetable oil, allow to heat before adding the sliced tomato/pepper/onions. Allow to fry and dry for the next 10-15 minutes, remember to stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  5. Add the cooked meat, remaining seasoning cube, salt to taste, crayfish and stir, allow to simmer on low heat for 3 minutes.
  6. Add the leaves (pumpkin leaf), stir properly and taste for salt.
  7. Allow simmering on low heat for 3-4 minutes and you just made a delicious pot of vegetable sauce for rice, yam or plantain.

 

Just like that, you have your vegetable sauce ready for eating with another staple food of your choice.
