Audi is making a ride that is essentially a combination of the electric scooter and a skateboard. The E-tron scooter is a four-wheeled rideable machine with a speed of 12.5 mph. It weighs 12 kg and has a range of around 20 km.

Audi blended the elements of a skateboard or hoover board into that of an e-scooter. It resulted in a unique ride that lets the rider stand to the side while holding the font handlebar with a single hand.

The rider twists the handlebar to control the brakes and acceleration. This leaves the rider with one hand to give turning signals if they wish.

According to Audi, the experience will feel like surfing. However, it seems it may take some training and expertise to safely ride this scooter.

The handle of the ride has a built-in battery and a charge level display. It also has front, rear, brake, and daytime running lights. Bluetooth connectivity is also available on the scooter which helps customise it for anti-theft.
The Audi scooter-like ride is expected to cost around $2,240 (₦812,000) and should be released before the end of 2020. However, Audi says it may offer the scooter as an optional accessory for E-tron car buyers. They can charge the scooter in their trunk and use it to get by after parking at a distance.

The micro-mobility device is a new market for Audi. General Motors and Ford are other Vehicle companies investing in this technology. Volkswagen also has its brand of electric scooters and Ford got its dockless scooter company. Meanwhile, GM is making e-bikes.
