The latest celebrity newlyweds, Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowre, have made the cover of British Vogue. In the Bridal July Issue, the couple gives us classy yet romantic vibes. The issue also reveals exclusive photos from their Moroccan wedding.
Their Marrakesh wedding was a thrilling three-day extravaganza as revealed in Vogue. Edward Enninful – a friend and guest of the bride and groom – revealed in the Vogue July issue that behind the extraordinary celebrations lies a simple tale as old as time.
“We’ve been literally inseparable since we met,” Elba discloses to Enninful. “You know, I’m 47 this year, been married and lived a full life before I even met Sabrina,” he continued. “It wasn’t something that I wanted to do, get married again. But…”
The couple met in 2017 in a Vancouver jazz bar. Vogue reveals that they met while Idris was filming “The Mountain Between Us” in the city. They both locked eyes, and it was “love at first sight”.
Well, the rest they say is history.
Sabrina Dhowre and Idris Elba chose to marry in Morocco because the bride and groom’s families are from East and West Africa respectively, and so it seemed apt to meet in the middle.
