Nollywood actress Damilola Adegbite is opening up about her divorce from Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the 36-year-old actress said she has no regret over her divorce as she never shed a tear when it happened.
Although Damilola didn’t reveal the cause of their split, she added that the union ended for a reason.
The film star also disclosed she only regards her ex-husband Chris Attoh as the father of her son.
“I never shed a tear for my divorce. A lot of pain and emptiness that many of us feel in a relationship is because we’re expecting so much from our partners,” she said.
“Love is not enough, when you meet somebody and you want to spend the rest of your life with them, love is just one of the qualities that you need, it is not everything.
For me, it’s done. The only regard that I would have for him right now is that he is the father of my son, and of course, the past experiences. I don’t regret anything. Everything that happened for me was for a reason.” She added.

Damilola Adegbite and Chris Attoh met on the set of “Tinsel”, MNET television series, and got engaged in August 2014.
They had tied the knot in a private ceremony in Ghana on February 14, 2015. They, however, had a “mutual and amicable” divorce in 2017.
Then in 2018, ten months after his divorce from Adegbite, Chris Attoh remarried, this time to American businesswoman Bettie Jennifer.
Unfortunately, in 2019, Jennifer died after an unidentified gunman shot her multiple times in the parking lot of her office.
Attoh gave love another chance with his third marriage is to a US-based investment banker, Chinecherem Eze.
The star reportedly had a secret court wedding in California in April 2021 while the traditional rites took place on 1st May 2021.
