Steve Bing, Hollywood film financier has committed suicide following a long battle with depression and financial woes.
Bing, 55, died after jumping from his 27th-floor apartment in LA’s Century City on Monday 22nd June. He was a notable philanthropist and Hollywood investor, and producer of the Sylvester Stallone remake “Get Carter.”
Bing dropped out of Stanford after receiving a $600 million inheritance from his grandfather, a real-estate developer.
While the Hollywood community remains shaken by his death, his close friend Ex-President Bill Clinton took to Twitter to describe who Bing was.

Mr. Bing enrolled at Stanford University but dropped out before graduating to pursue a career in entertainment. He started his production company, Shangri-La Entertainment, and co-wrote the screenplay to the 2003 comedy “Kangaroo Jack,” produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Bing also financed “The Polar Express,” a motion-capture animated film that starred Tom Hanks. Recently, he partnered with other Hollywood financiers including Ron Burkle, Arnon Milchan, and Brett Ratner to finance “Rules Don’t Apply,” a 2016 film written, produced, and directed by Warren Beatty.
Bing is survived by his son with British actress Ms. Hurley, Damian, and a daughter, Kira, from a previous relationship.
