Gran Turismo Game Is Coming To PC

Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that developers are looking at bringing the franchise to PC. According to Eurogamer, which quoted a Yamauchi interview at the Gran Turismo World Finals on Sunday, the car racing game could get a version playable on computers.

“Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it,” Yamauchi had said about the possibility of a PC version.

The challenge is currently how to ensure that the game runs consistently in 4K at 60 frames per second on all platforms.

For the last 25 years of its existence, Gran Turismo has been exclusive to PlayStation, making it one of the consoles most notable selling points.

It is not clear if Sony would not find a way to keep their exclusivity for a more years, seeing that Xbox’s owner, Microsoft, acquired Call of Duty maker Activision and could make it exclusive in the next ten years. Although, Sony’s track record has shown that it can allow PC gamers enjoy some previously exclusive titles as it did with Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, God of War, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves.

Gran Turismo 7 is the latest installment of the car racing game, released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in March. The game is also being made into a movie under Sony Studios.
