Google could launch Pixel Fold using Samsung display

Google could be launching its first foldable phone, Pixel Fold, soon and the latest rumour is that it will use Samsung display. According to leaks, the display could offer a resolution of 1,840×2,208 pixels and 120Hz resolution.

With the success of the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold series, Samsung has established itself as an authority in the foldable screen business, so it is not surprising that the Korean brand is the rumoured supplier of Google’s Pixel Fold.

However, at this time, nothing has been confirmed. We heard that the company is using the codename Felix, for the project and that the screen will measure 123mm by 148mm. Its inner display is expected to have a brightness of up to 1200 nits.

Samsung is not the only supplier being named as part of the upcoming Pixel Fold phone. The smartphone’s camera is said to be manufactured by Sony and it would sport a triple camera rear setup.

This is not the first time we are hearing rumours about the Pixel foldable smartphone. Last year, it was alleged to be coming along side the Pixel 6, but that didn’t happen. Meanwhile, in 2022, it was less popular, likely because of the several upgrades that were coming to the Pixel 7 lineup.

Now, we are hearing that Google could announce the Pixel Fold in 2023. If this happens, it will beat rivals Apple to launch a device that can compete in the foldable market.
