From Erica, To Wathoni To DJ Cuppy, Here’s How Your Stars Celebrated Nigeria’s 60th Independence
Today is another October 1st, another day to commemorate Nigeria’s independence.
This year, Nigeria’s 60th was however celebrated with somewhat dampened spirits.
With the country still grappling with the economic losses from a pandemic, state of insecurity and unemployment, it did appear Nigerians didn’t see much to celebrate.
Our stars however came through with the independence style, shining in their different array of green and white outfits. From Jemima Osunde to Erica, to Wathoni check out how your celebrities reeled in Nigeria’s 60th birthday.
We are really grateful to Wathoni for styling to perfection this beautiful green gown.
She captioned the photos:
“As we celebrate Nigeria at 60 today let’s remember that change begins with us. Let’s not lose hope of the fact that one day and I pray it comes soon enough, the Nigerian system will one way or the other be on our side in terms of jobs, infrastructure, health and so on.”
“Meanwhile today let’s do something for our county 🏾. It can be as little as saying no to littering . It constantly feels like we are not where we should be at all but let’s appreciate the baby steps still. We can make this happen my people. Happy Independence Day Nigeria”
Erica posted a series of photos of herself looking gorgeous in a Lisa Folawiyo print suit. She wrote “Happy Independence Day Nigeria 🇳🇬”
The designer posed with just a green flower and her birthday suit to celebrate Nigeria at 60.
She wrote on her Instagram: “Happy Independence Day to Nigeria that’s nothing to write home About, But we will continue to strive and break boundaries internationally for our nation, open doors the Government couldn’t open for us for the youths, Not cause it’s our duty, But for the future, our kids Are the future. Hopefully one day our voice will be heard.’

A land filled with with a vibrant youth population and so much talent yet to be discovered.”
“Nigeria, my beautiful Motherland, you have shaped me into who I am through different experiences, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. You have brought the best out of me and I will forever be proud of you. I will fly your flag all across the globe and live in Peace & Unity with all men.
The sweat and blood of our founding fathers. The trials and travails of our heroes past
