The rumour is true, and Captain Jean-Luc Picard is really coming to Star Trek. It was revealed at the Comic-Con this year in San Diego, USA. It featured an actual trailer of Sir Patrick Stewart Picard.

The trailer shows Jean-Luc being retired to his quiet life running the winery. However, he seems to have quickly grown bored of that life. Probably having envisaged a situation like this, he stored Data in pieces in a drawer.

Data is now being brought back as he comes out of retirement with a somewhat disoriented crew. It has also been confirmed that Spiner will be playing Data. However, the trailer isn’t rid of mysteries.

Isa Briones plays a mysterious woman in the trailer. She plays a character called Dahj, but this still leaves us with a lot of questions. However, one thing is clear: she has a connection with Jean-Luc. She appears after he talks about Data’s struggle to fit into regular society.

The trailer took fans on an emotional journey where they tried to demystify what the trailer is about. There are various speculations on what “Star Trek: Picard” is all about. Fans subsequently delved into the Star Trek history to get clues and insight into what’s coming.

It looks like it is going to be a great start to the year for Star Trek fans. The new release will be on America’s CBS streaming service by early 2020.
