Elsie Okpocha, the wife of popular comedian Basket Mouth, has revealed that her husband did not propose to her. Elsie made this revelation while being interviewed in “5 Years After”, a show produced by Wedding Channel Africa TV.

Basket Mouth, in his defence, said jokingly that Elsie has been a “thorn on his flesh” so he just wanted the wedding over. Therefore, there was no time to make a proper proposal.

The couple also answered lots of other questions on the show as it pertained to their marriage. When the issue of divorce was raised, Elsie and Basket Mouth agreed that divorce was off the table for them because there is no perfect marriage, and they were working at making theirs beautiful.

Over the course of the interview, they both went down memory lane to disclose how they met. Elsie was a Theatre Arts student at the University of Lagos who had a crush on Basket Mouth. They met when he came to her school for a show.

The couple answered fun questions in the show and concluded with telling themselves how much they loved each other.

Elsie Okpocha and Basket Mouth have been married for nine years. Their marriage is blessed with two children.
