1.7 million views and counting, that’s how much Davido and Chris Brown’s “Blow My Mind” Video has been viewed. It’s also been less than 24 hours since the Afropop singer shared the link on his Instagram handle, and it’s already trending as number 1.

African music is reigning supreme already and Nigerian artistes haven’t even started. With Wizkid, Yemi Alade, Tecno and Mr. Eazi representing Nigeria on Beyonce’s ‘The Gift’ Album, it seemed like that was the peak.

 

However, Burna Boy dropped his African Giant album and heart’s melted. Coincidentally, Davido and Chris Brown’s Afrobeat collab ‘Blow My Mind’ audio also dropped, and the numbers kept rising. Now, the video is out and – (dramatic pause please!) – minds are blown away.

 

 

Vocals from Chris Breezy are off the roof. The video vixen and dancers are also representing with the moves we all love to wiggle to. Just to seal the deal like it’s no big deal was Chris Brown’s moves as he did some African steps in sync to the beat.

 

Blow My Mind is the lead single from his upcoming album expected to be released sometime this year.

 

The video opens up with Davido singing in a dimly lit motel room with a girl chilling on the bed behind him. His dimples came to play as usual as he had fun throughout the video. Then he joins Chris Brown in front of a motel, and there go the viewers’ hearts. The collaboration is sensational and stimulating.

 

Colourful, fun, rhythmic, and four-stars-out-of-five worthy. It wasn’t perfect, but it’s worth listening and vibing to. Edgar Esteves (J. Cole, Future) directed the video while it was shot in California.
