Country Music Legend Kenny Rogers Dies At 81

Country Music legend and actor, Kenny Rogers is dead. He died on Friday the 20th of may at age 81.

 

“Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family,” according to a statement from his management firm, SKH Music.

 

 

His family plans a small private service due to the coronavirus outbreak and a public memorial slated for a later date.

 

Rogers career spanned over six decades. His biggest successes include  “Lady,” “Islands in the Stream,” “Lucille,” “She Believes In Me” , “Through the Years.” and arguably his biggest hit; “The Gambler”.

Other hits included “You Decorated My Life,” “Every Time Two Fools Collide” with Dottie West. “Don’t Fall In Love with a Dreamer” with Kim Carnes, and “Coward of the County.”

Rogers had 24 number-one hits over his career and is a six-time County Music Association winner. He won the Grammy alongside several awards in his lifetime.

 

 

Kenny is survived by his wife, Wanda, and his sons Justin, Jordan, Chris and Kenny Jr., as well as two brothers, a sister and grandchildren, nieces and nephews, his representative said.
