Last month, a xenophobic attack on Nigerians living in South Africa sparked outrage from Nigerians, especially some celebrities. One of these was Burna Boy, who did not hesitate to express his anger at the happenings in the country. Burna Boy also called out South African rapper AKA for some of his insnsitive tweets during the period.

In a now-deleted tweet, Burna Boy threatened to deal with AKA next time their paths crossed. He advised the rapper to ensure he has security, suggesting that AKA would need it.

Burna Boy wrote,

“And @akaworldwide I knew you was retarded but I didn’t know it had gotten this bad. Next time I see you you better have a big security bro, On Gambos Grave ur gunna need it.”

The outraged “Ye” crooner also vowed not to set foot in South Africa, except a miracle happened.

“I personally have had my own xenophobic experiences at the hands of South Africans and because of that… I have not set foot in SA since 2017. And I will NOT EVER go to South Africa again for any reason until the SOUTH AFRICAN government wakes the f**k up and really performs A miracle because I don’t know how they can even possibly fix this.”

So when word got out that the African Giant, Burna Boy, will headline the African Unite concert set to hold in Cape Town and Tshwane next month, AKA had a few things to say.

AKA, who sarcastically expressed his delight to attend the event, dared Burna Boy to live up to his threat.

In a tweet, he teased, “I would love to attend this show and watch this man put his hands on me in my own country.”

When a fan asked AKA to bury the hatchet, he responded, “I wouldn’t mind at all… He must just apologise so we can forgive him.”

The rapper then posted a screenshot of Burna Boy’s now-deleted tweet, saying, “See you soon @burnaboy.”
