Billionaire Wars: Elon Musk Says Bill Gates Is Underwhelming

Elon Musk has gained fame for more than just his wealth and innovative products, this time he has turned his sharp tongue on Bill Gates. The retort came after Bill Gates revealed that he bought a Porsche Taycan EV as opposed to buying a Tesla model car.

In an interview with popular YouTuber, Marques Brownlee, Bill Gates had revealed that he admired the efforts of Musk’s car company. The world’s second-richest man had said that car manufacturers are leading the way in emission reduction.

This is true as companies like Coda Automotive, Wheego Electric Cars, Tesla Motors, Think, Fisker Automotive, Tango Commuter Cars, BYD and GEM are pushing out cars after cars powered by electricity.

However, they are still facing issues like having to be recharged regularly. This is still its major challenge besides the high-pricing.

During the course of the interview, Gates told Brownlee that passenger car companies give humans the best chance of controlling climate change. In addition, the billionaire told the YouTuber:

“And certainly Tesla, if you had to name one company that’s helped drive that, it’s them.”

Despite naming Tesla as a trailblazer, Bill Gates mentioned that he had recently purchased a Porsche Taycan. The Porsche Taycan is an all-electric car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porsche. It was first unveiled as a concept car named Mission E at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Later, it entered production form at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Porsche Taycan costs about $103,800 while Tesla Model 3 costs $41,190.

In response, a Tesla enthusiast had posted on Twitter that he was disappointed that the co-founder of Microsoft corporation had chosen Porsche over Tesla products.

Elon Musk, one for saying how he feels it, had retorted:

“My conversations with Gates have been underwhelming tbh.”

Musk also blasted Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg recently for the service’s weaknesses. Tesla cars are becoming more popular in recent times. The car company also surpassed Volkswagen as the second-most valuable car manufacturer in the US.
