Reality star Yousef has annouced the demise of his elder brother.

The “Shine Ya Eye” ex-housemate, real name Yusuf Garba took to his Instagram page on October 26, 2021, to share the sad news, writing that would welcome  “prayers and condolences”. He also said he’d be taking a break from social media for a while.

“Hello everyone, I just lost my eldest brother and I’m going to be off for a bit. Your prayers and condolences would be immensely appreciated. Thank you.” he wrote.

Yousef did not however share the date or circumstances of his brother’s death. The reality star was evicted from BBNaija season 6 on September 19. Before he left, his stay was characterised by several dissenting opinions especially from conservative Muslims who did not think their kind should be on the show.

However, in an interview with Cable Lifestyle, the Jos-born former teacher said the show was for anyone who wished to showcase their talent.

Yousef said that on the show, he prayed five times as his religion commands.

“No, I don’t see anything wrong with the show, I just want to say that BBNaija is a place for everyone. It doesn’t matter where you are from or what religion you practice, or the colour of your skin or what tribe you are, this is a place where you can showcase your talent. I was going for my dreams, it is a home for everyone, it depends on what you want to do.”
