All You Need To Know About Air Fryers

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The air fryer is one of the new technologies that has improved the way we cook our meals. It is a healthier cooking method that uses the super-heated air it circulates within its chamber to cook food.

A mechanical fan circulates the hot air around the food at high speed, cooking the food and producing a crispy layer to create a reaction called the Maillard Effect. (The Maillard Effect is a chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars that gives browned food its distinctive flavour).

To use the air fryer, coat the food with healthy oils like olive oil and sesame seed oil, the air circulating then heats up to 200°C to kick start the reaction of cooking the food. It works with potato fries, fish, chicken, turkey, plantain and pastries. It uses about 80 per cent less oil than good old deep-frying.

You can adjust the timer depending on what you are frying, fish will need less time than chicken but more time than fries.

This method of cooking needs little to no oil, making it the latest and healthiest cooking option. The technology became popular in 2010.
