Bling Lagosians is Bolanle Austen-Peters’ directorial debut. She is responsible for creating fantastic stage productions, such as Saro, Waka and Moremi.

 

This time, she brought together a mega cast. It featured Elvina Ibru, Toyin Abraham, Jide Kosoko, Bisola Aiyeola, Denola Grey, Monalisa Chinda, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, Sharon Ooja, Helen Paul, Alex Ekubo and more.

 

 

The film is about the wealthy Holloway Lagos socialite family. In the trailer teaser, the wife is planning a flamboyant and expensive party for her 51st birthday. Although her husband reveals they are going bankrupt, she goes on ahead. He then struggles to prevent their family’s huge debt from being exposed.

 

This is a story that every Lagosian can relate with. It is also a reflection of Lagos life. Furthermore, it tells a story of those who try hard to impress with flamboyant lifestyles they can’t afford.

 

In the story, it reveals the preparations for the party. Although the trailer doesn’t give away too much, you can tell this is one film to be excited about.

 

The film is set to be released on 28th June.

“Bling Lagosians” is one film many can’t wait to feast their eyes on. It premiered over the weekend, and celebrities jumped on the “Eko For Show” dress theme with no hesitation.
