Actor Eddie Hassell Dies From A Shooting At Age 30

American Actor Eddie Hassell who featured in  “Surface” and “Devious Maids,” is dead. He died from a shooting on Sunday, November 1st in Texas. He was 30 years old. Hassell’s manager confirmed his death to Variety earlier Sunday evening.

 

In a press release Police in Grand Prairie, Texas, said that they responded to a shooting at 1:50 am local time on Sunday morning. There they found Hassell suffering from gunshot wounds.

 

The statement said police rendered aid and then transported Hassell to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The murder is under investigation, police said.Actor Eddie Hassell Dies From A Shooting At Age 30

Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect or suspects and are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.

 

Hassell was born on 16th July 1990 in Corsicana, Texas. He held several small roles throughout the 2000s and 2010s, most notably as Clay in the 2010 film “The Kids Are All Right,” also starring Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo. “The Kids Are All Right” earned a best picture nod at the 2011 Oscars. He also played Phil Nance on NBC’s sci-fi series “Surface,” acting alongside Leighton Meester and Lake Bell.

Eddie Hassell made appearances on television shows such as Aaron Sorkin’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset S***p,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Oliver Beene,” “Joan of Arcadia,” “‘Til Death,” “Southland,” “Bones,” “Devious Maids” and “Longmire.”

 

Besides “The Kids Are All Right,” Hassell held roles in movies like “2012,” “The Family Tree”. He also featured in 2013 Steve Jobs biopic “Jobs,” “Family Weekend” with Kristin Chenoweth and Joey King, “House of Dust,” “Warrior Road” and “Bomb City.”

 

2017’s Bomb City won the audience award that year for best narrative feature at the Dallas International Film Festival.

 

His most recent credit is for the 2017 film “Oh Lucy!”.
