YouTube has revealed the highest earner on its platform in 2020 and a 9-year-old, Ryan Kaji is topping the list. Ryan came ontop earning $29.5 million in 2020.
Ryan Kaji who lives with his parents in Texas, US, became famous at the age of four for unboxing toys and games on youtube. Now, his YouTube channel ‘Ryan’s World‘ has over 41 million subscribers. A huge portion of Kaji’s earnings comes from licensing deals on more than 5,000 Ryan’s World products. They range from bedroom decor and action figures to masks and walkie talkies. He is also Youtube’s top earner three years in a row.

Forbes wrote introducing him, “He’s famous for so-called unboxing videos, in which he takes toys out of their packages and reviews them. The little guy now has a line of branded merchandise—toys, backpacks, toothpaste, more—at Target, Amazon and Walmart that did $200 million in sales last year, and a Nickelodeon series called Ryan’s Mystery Playdate.”

His parents, Shion and Loanna Kaji now run a successful 30 man business editing Ryan’s videos and managing his other enterprises.
“I feel like Ryan’s relationship with his fans is very unique and different from talent on TV,” Shion told Business Insider earlier this year. “His relationship with his fans is more of a friendship where every time we meet Ryan’s fans and their family, they always mention, ‘Oh, my son or daughter thinks they are Ryan’s best friend”
Also on Youtube’s list is Mr. Beast, who is second on the ranking with $24 million. He is followed by Dude Perfect with $23 million, Rhett and Link with $20 million, and in fifth place is Markiplier with $19.5 million.
Popular YouTuber Jeffree Star still made the top ten this year. He however dropped from fifth place in 2019 with $17 million to 10th in 2020 with $15 million.
