The 2019 Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) officially kicks off today and runs from 23rd to 29th June 2019. The fourth edition of the film festival is tagged “Relentless”. Likewise, the Festival Program carries the theme, “Palette”.
The festival will hold at various venues in Lagos, Nigeria. They include Silverbird Cinemas, Ikeja City Mall; Genesis Cinemas, Maryland Mall; and Lagos Travel Inn, Toyin Street, Ikeja.
With the success from previous editions, this festival promises to be bigger and better. It will include 178 films of various genres from 156 countries to be screened in seven days. As one of the main features, the event will host the official premiere of four feature films. Prior to the festival, RTF accepted entries from filmmakers across the world.
In continuation with its unique culture, the festival will show 16 short films as during the Opening Ceremony. These films have been curated to take the viewers through an unforgettable dynamic and emotive session.

Expectations for the 2019 Realtime International Film Festival say that it will attract a whopping 13,000 film lovers and film industry professionals. It will include a large number of retrospectives, film seasons and specialist festivals. All of these will make the program more versatile and exciting than any other cinema in the country.
The festival aims “to build a truly international, all-inclusive and remotely accessible Film Festival”. It also seeks “to champion an artistic baseline” that will enhance equity and openness among creative artists, filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
