Watch: Yvonne Orji Reveals She Was Insecure About Getting The Part During Auditions For ‘Insecure’

Yvonne was scared she didn’t get the role. How could she not? She’s perfect.

 

Nigerian born American actress  and comedienne Yvonne Orji recently opened up on her journey on HBO hit series “Insecure”, where she played her breakout role ‘Molly’.

In an interview with her on-screen best friend and writer of the series Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji shared some of her hilarious back stage moments while auditioning for ‘Insecure’.

 

According to Yvonne, she had some nerve racking moments where she feared she’d flopped the audition. She went back stage to wear a path in the carpet and overheard one of the casting directors say “So what do we think about that one?”.

 

We’re pretty sure her heartbeat must have been so loud, one can do a dance to it.

 

Thankfully, she did go on to get the role which she catapulted her to her currently enjoyed fame and a fan following.

On the series ‘Insecure’

For the newbies to insecure; the series about two young ladies (Issa and Molly) set in the same cultural background trying the utmost to win in life and also, in love.

 

While the story is simplistic with plot basic progressive plot, the series now in its fourth season, mirrors the challenges of contemporary young black women in America and is told in a hilarious fashion that will get you in stitches.

 

Rated 7.8/10 on IMDB and a whopping 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, the series comes highly recommended. Watch and thank us later!
