Xbox Cloud Streaming Service Finally Arrives For Its Gaming Consoles

Microsoft is currently rolling out Xbox cloud gaming to its Xbox One, Series X/S consoles. The company announced on Wednesday, 17 2021 that the gaming streaming service is currently available for select countries.

Users will have to have access to its Game Pass Ultimate subscription in order to be able to try its Cloud games. Let’s say you just want to play the game demo, you don’t need to download the actual game, as you can simply stream the cloud version.

Microsoft says Xbox cloud for the console is available only for 25 countries, “with Brazil coming soon.” More countries will be supported “over the coming weeks” also “with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers,” the company said.

Recently, Xbox xCloud which comprises of its Cloud gaming and Remote play is now officially available on Windows via the Xbox app. Initially, in testing for its beta insiders, this service is now available publicly. Intending users of cloud gaming services need to be Xbox game pass subscribers to try it out.

Gamers can now play Xbox games through the cloud just like Google’s stadia platform. It has now made a swift jump from availability on web browsers to an actual native app. Xbox remote play on the other hand; allows gamers to stream their games from their consoles to a windows external machine.

Interestingly, you will need to be on the same network as the games with your external Microsoft machine. Additionally, these games can be streamed at a high resolution of 1080p at 60fps. There’s also backward compatibility for certain games according to Microsoft.

Finally, its xCloud and remote play features are now available publicly through its Xbox app to gamers. Microsoft still labels it as Beta, so some features might not work depending on your region.

Cloud gaming for the Xbox consoles currently support exclusive games like The Medium, Recompile and others. Microsoft says its break out game Microsoft Flight Simulator will be joining that list in early 2022.
