Xbox Announces It Now Has 25 Million Subscribers On Game Pass

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass now has 25 million subscribers the company recently announced. This is nearly a 100% increase from the 18 million subscribers exactly 11 months ago.

The Redmond based company has announced it will be acquiring Activision Blizzard, further bolstering the number of titles to Xbox. This deal is valued at $68.7 billion, which will see an additional 400 million monthly active players.

Microsoft in a statement says that  “With Activision Blizzard’s nearly 400 million monthly active players in 190 countries and three billion-dollar franchises, this acquisition will make Game Pass one of the most compelling and diverse lineups of gaming content in the industry.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War

This growth is a result of Microsoft’s push for the xCloud gaming platform. This service is now available on its PC, console and iOS. The popular games from Activision Blizzard such as Candy Crush, Call of Duty and Warcraft would be options coming to Xbox.

Ubisoft is also bringing its Plus subscription service to Game pass with the Rainbow Six: Extraction game at launch. There is no certain date announced for the coming of the subscription service. Ubisoft community manager Daniel O’Connor says that it “will be coming to Xbox in the future.”

Asides from Rainbow Six Extraction, Ubisoft also says that Rainbow Six Seige will launch on January 20 for Xbox consoles and PC.

It’s nice to have other gaming subscription services available on the Xbox platform, Twitch recently made a comeback and there are more to come.
