The tech company by American musician Will.i.am tech company will no longer acquire Earin. The true wireless earbud startup recently announced this. At CES 2018, last year, the news about the acquisition made it to the public for the first time. This followed reports that tech brand owned by Will.i.am, i.am+, would buy the company, Earin.
Earin, at the announcement, said the proposed acquisition stalled due to unfulfilled obligations. It explained that the company would get back to its initial blueprint under its original leadership team.
The announcement may now mean that Earin can get itself back on its feet after a difficult few years. Their first team of truly wireless earbuds were ridden with poor battery life and connectivity issues. The second batch, called the M2 earbuds, also did not ship until August 2018.
It looks like it might be a great idea that Will.i.am’s company will not buy the company after all. Earin apparently tried their hand at numerous smartwatches and wireless earbuds that ended up being bad.
i.am+’s website now says it is working on another business venture, a business-focused Artificial Intelligence platform called Omega.
