WhatsApp now lets you hide ‘last seen’ from specific contacts

New WhatsApp feature will let you hide your ‘last seen’ status from specific contacts instead of hiding it from everybody.

‘WhatsApp for espionage’ users will definitely like this one! The chat platform is improving one of its privacy measures to give you more control.

From WABetaInfo, the company has a feature in Beta testing that lets you hide your ‘last seen’ status from only specific contacts. Before now, users only had the option of hiding it from everyone, but the reasoning behind this update is that you are likely not trying to hide away from everyone.

Or are you?

Well, if you prefer, you can just choose the “My Contacts Except…” option when setting who can see your Last Seen status. Then, you will select those contacts that are a pain in the neck, and they won’t be able to see when last you were online (you won’t be able to see theirs too).

This feature will also be available for other privacy settings, such as who can see your profile picture and your about info.

With the feature already available to WhatsApp Beta testers, it will only be a matter of weeks before other users can start enjoying it.

The social media platform continues to bring new features to make it even more appealing to users as it will soon lose its WhatsApp-to-WhatsApp messaging privilege under the coming DMA.
