A sequel to the highly successful comedy-drama “Chief Daddy” from Ebonylife studios is in the works.
The news was announced by CEO Ebonylife Mo Abudu on July 30th. According to her, Netflix has given the green light for the production of a sequel which will be released exclusively on the streaming platform.
“Good morning beautiful people ️ ️ ️. I did promise you loads of exciting announcements in July, and in keeping with that promise, I have one more announcement to make before we end July…I am pleased to announce that EBONYLIFE FILMS, the Creators and Producers of Chief Daddy in Partnership with NETFLIX will be bringing you CHIEF DADDY 2 !!!”

The sequel will be directed by ace director by Niyi Akinmolayan, director of Wedding Party 2 and “Chief Daddy.” Meanwhile, the film is billed to drop on Netflix sometime in 2021.
“Chief Daddy” follows the story of a wealthy man whose death sends his large and warring family into flying splinters. The star-studded cast includes Nkem Owoh, Patience Ozokwo, Joke Silva, Kate Henshaw, Funke Akindele, Ini Edo, and others. These stars will also be making a come back in the upcoming sequel.
