Vivo X Fold 5G specs teased ahead of September 26 launch

Vivo X Fold 5G is expected to launch on September 26 but ahead of that date, some of its key features and specs have surfaced.

The smartphone is alleged to have a 6-inch+ display of 120Hz refresh rate capability. Further details claim that the screen achieved 19 DisplayMate A+ certifications.

Its body is said to feature an alert slider and a stronger hinge which passed the 300,000 folding test. The device will have red, blue and black colour schemes at launch.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset will power the Vivo X Fold 5G smartphone, according to a Weibo post by the company’s executive.

As for its photography tools, the camera and software were designed by Vivo and Zeiss. When closed, the device will have an outer screen that is placed in the middle.

Meanwhile, in the power department, the device could pack a 4,730mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging capability and a 50W wireless charging.

It is true that the company is yet to confirm any of the rumoured specs, but it is likely that the prebooking date of September 21 could be true as the company plans to launch the device on September 26.

For now, we have heard nothing of how much the Vivo X Fold 5G is priced but given its foldable support and 5G capacity, would-be users should be looking at an asking price of more than $900.
