Twitter whistleblower, Peiter Zatko, claims that he came forward with his filing to protect the public and the company’s investors and not to favour Elon Musk.
As hard as that opening statement may be to believe, that is what Zatko’s lawyers are saying. In addition, he is expected to honour the subpoena he received from Musk’s team of lawyers, which means that he would be able to testify.
“Mr. Zatko will comply with his legal obligations of that subpoena and his appearance at the deposition is involuntary. He did not make his whistleblower disclosures to the appropriate governmental bodies to benefit Musk or to harm Twitter, but rather to protect the American public and Twitter shareholders,” his lawyers said.

However, it could open him up to cross-examination by Twitter’s lawyers as well. Although, the company has not said anything about the development after the Tesla boss’ lawyers revealed that they had subpoenaed the whistleblower.
Initially, it had stated that Zatko’s claims were ‘riddled with inconsistencies and inaccuracies.’ “Contrary to the assertions in your letter, Twitter has breached none of its representations or obligations under the Agreement, and Twitter has not suffered and is not likely to suffer a Company Material Adverse Effect,” it added.
Zatko may prove instrumental in the Twitter v Elon Musk case, depending on what can be proven. For now, there is little to back up his claims about his former employers lying about the number of spam or bots accounts on their social media platform.
But, there is time to gather evidence if they exist.
It appears that Twitter foresaw internal sabotaged and stylish warned employees not to talk about the company’s impending purchase as soon as it turned into a legal matter.
