Twitter Users Call For Donald Trump’s Ban After Tweet ‘Glorifying Violence’

The open conflict between Donald Trump and Twitter seems to not be ending soon and in recent developments, users are calling for his ban from the platform. The outrage came after the United States President’s most recent Tweet this morning.

On Friday, 29th May 2020, Donald Trump posted on Twitter regarding the protest of George Floyd’s killing. He also addressed the ongoing store and home lootings and mentioned that ‘THUGS’ were using the protest as an opportunity to break the laws. However, he ended the Tweet with the statement:

“Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!”

The last sentence sparked outrage as people saw it as the President endorsing violence using his Twitter page. In response, Twitter restricted views of the post by and added a label to it. But the social media platform allowed the post to stay up saying that it “has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.”
