Travis Scott To Pay For Funeral Of 8 People Who Died During His Concert

Rapper Travis Scott has annouced he’d cover the funeral cost of the persons who died during his Astroworld Concert over the weekend.

This was made known in a statement released by his team on Monday, CNN reported. The statement reads;

“Travis remains in active conversations with the city of Houston, law enforcement and local first responders to respectfully and appropriately connect with the individuals and families of those involved,” the statement read.

The statement also added ‘Sicko Mode” crooner will be providing mental health and other medical aid for those injured during the stampede

“These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process.”

The concert which took place on Friday, November in Houston, Texas saw a crowd surge that caused a stampede leaving eight dead and 300 injured. Among those confirmed dead is a 10-year-old child.

The crowd of over 50,000 persons at Houston’s NRG Park had started pushing towards the front while Travis Scott was performing, causing chaos and mayhem.

Additionally, Astroworld organisers have said they’ll fully refund all ticket holders of the show. This is for both Friday attendees and those who bought tickets for Saturday’s cancelled events.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott and Drake —who was performing with him at the time of the crowd surge— were sued for inciting “Mayhem” by a concert-goer.
