Nollywood actress, Toyin Abraham has opened up about her journey into depression and all that she had to go through. During an interview with Chude Jideonwo of RedTv, the actress disclosed that she had contemplated suicide.

Toyin revealed how she turned her back on her family and felt that dying would even make her more popular. This was because the fear of the unknown was her everyday reality.

The actress said she felt life had no meaning and had to depend on her manager and counselor to come off the depressed state that almost took her life.

She described herself as a wild dove now who is super fearless and can achieve anything because she is a strong woman.

Toyin won the coveted award for the Best Actress in a Drama (Movie/Tv series), for her role in the film “Elevator Baby” at the 2020 AMVCA Awards held 14th March 2020.

In July 2013, Toyin married actor Adeniyi Johnson but the marriage had crashed within a year. It ended with Adeniyi Johnson moving on to be with Yoruba star actress Oluwaseyi Edun.

Now, Toyin is married to Kolawole Ajeyemi who is also an actor in the Yoruba movie industry
