Deyjay Harris is speaking up for the first time since the controversy she and her father faced in November 2019. During an episode of “Friends and Family Hustle“, Deyjah Harris opened up about her dad’s controversial hymen comments and it’s after-effects on their relationship.
According to Deyjay, she was on a vacation with her family when she was tagged to her father’s statement on Twitter.
“Things are completely uncomfortable for me right now. We’re all together in this house, so I have to see my dad and be around him. And we’re in a foreign country, so it’s not like I can leave and getaway.
I’m scrolling on Twitter, and I see that I’ve been tagged in a post. The only word that I saw was ‘gynecologist’ and I didn’t even need to read the whole title ’cause I just knew… my heart sank.”
In November 2019, TI was guest at Nazani Mandi and Nazia Moham podcast, “Ladies Like Us”. In the course of the conversation, they asked the rapper if he had the s*x talk with his two daughters. He proceeded to say he follows his daughter Deyjah to her Gynecologist sessions to check if her hymen is still intact. The statement sparked off a wild outrage on the internet and TI came under fire for what most people deemed inappropriate behavior.

TI and his wife Tiny a few weeks after the saga broke on the internet gave a full interview to Jada Pinkett on her “Red Table Talk ” program to address the issue. He admitted that while his daughter Deyjah didn’t object to him sitting in during her Gynecologist sessions she did not endorse his talking about it.
“She did have a problem with me talking about it, however, and I understand that, and I am incredibly apologetic to her for that. She understands my intentions and she knows who I am, who I’ve always been.”
Deyjah while talking about it said she was hurt and embarrassed by the statement.
“I’m embarrassed definitely. I’m trying to push it in the back of my mind. So I’m not really thinking about it… but I’ve been doing that since [I was] a child, that stuff with him… It’s definitely been going on since probably 14 or 15.”
I do think my dad treats me differently than the boys when it comes to the subject of s*x and supervision… I’m not really gonna be able to get through to him, connect how I need to. I just don’t really care to be around him right now. Our relationship, I’m gonna look at it differently.”
