Tinder is testing two new features that might make the app more money. The tests are supposedly built on paid subscriptions and meant to entice more paying users to the dating app.

Tinder Gold and Tinder Plus will offer subscribers the ability to pay to view read receipts on chats. They will also have the opportunity to break the app’s algorithm and push their profile to the top for potential matches.

The premium users can now pay to turn the read receipts on for individual chats so that they can see when a match reads their messages. It is also only a person on the upgrade that will be able to view the read receipts. They will, however, both have the option to turn off the read receipts.

The read receipts will be turned on by default. People on the upgraded version who want to turn it off will have to do that manually. The feature can be bought in packs and then applied to desired chat threads.

New Tinder premium?

This is not a new feature on regular messaging apps. However, for dating apps like OkCupid and The League, this is only available on a paid upgrade. This is also a particularly interesting feature for a dating app like Tinder where people can just decide to end the conversation

However, with this new feature, users can now know when they are being ignored by a love interest. It seems though like a feature that will fetch Tinder a few bucks as people will like to know when and if their messages have been read.

The other update is for people who think maybe they need a little more boost to get noticed. The Super Boost means that a user’s profile will be promoted to 100 times more people.

According to Tinder, the Super Boost will appear during peak periods when a lot of people are on the app at the same time. The price for these features is yet to be revealed. This is because they are both only just being tested.
