Thinking About Video Call Security, See Cisco Webex Security Offerings

With more and more employees working remotely, video collaborations are getting more important, this is why Cisco recently unrolled higher security for Webex users. See a summary of some of the security services that Cisco Webex users get.

In a blog post titled, Cisco Webex Security, the company is creating awareness around its security offerings. This is paramount at this time because some companies deal with sensitive data that must not fall into the wrong hands.

Thus, Cisco touts Webex as having the capacity to offer: strong encryption, compliance visibility, and control over your data. Companies that use the tool for collaborations get access to set risk-based policies as well as see their user activities. Also, it helps secure users’ devices by forcing PIN-lock and even remotely wiping mobile phones that get compromised.

Cisco Webex also offers end-to-end data encryption, thus, with it, companies do not have to worry about their information leaking during transfers. Webex applications, Webex Room devices, and Cisco Webex Cloud all get this encryption feature.

Even for saved data on the Webex Teams space, only authenticated users can view such files and messages. Additionally, besides the already mentioned forced PIN-lock and remote wipe, Cisco Webex also protects content in a device’s browser by enabling an idle timeout feature. This means that information on a browser will be closed after a specific duration when it has not been used.

These are just some of the basic security features that Cisco Webex offers.

At this time, the tech giants have moved beyond just providing a platform for virtual collaborations. Now, the competition is to assure users of the safety of their information and give them control over their privacy.
