The First Episode Of Netflix’s Much Anticipated African Original “Blood & Water” Is Out! (Watch)

The first episode of Netflix’s second original African series ” Blood & Water” is finally out!

 

After extensive deliberations with African writers and creatives, Netflix put into works its second African original just after it’s first “Queen Sono” premiered worldwide.

 

The series, premiered on 20th May 2020 centers on teenage students of Parkhurst College South-Africa; an otherwise ivy league school for elite scholars and academic overachievers.

The 6-part series follows the story of Puleng Khumalo, an intelligent and impulsive 16-year-old with a secret to hide. The teenager engineers her transfer to Parkhurst College in a desperate bid to investigate the 17-year cold case of her older sister’s disappearance.

Abducted at birth, Fikile’s disappearance has cast a shadow over Puleng’s life, and she’s determined to solve the case.

 

While at first glance this may seem like just another rich brats teenage drama, the plot runs deeper. Almost every character has a story and a question mark.

 

Is the head-girl-elect as perfect as she seems? Also, will Puleng ever find out the truth about her missing sister, abducted as a newborn?

 

The story is a web of controversies and secrets sprinkled generously with teenage spunkiness and humor.

 

Blood & Water feature rising stars from the South African movie industry. They include breakout actress Khosi Ngema, Ama Qamata, Natasha Thahane, Gail Mabalane, Cindy Mahlangu, Thabang Molaba, Arno Greeff, and also, Dillon Windvogel.
