Tesla Reports It Delivered Almost A Staggering Million Vehicles In 2021

Tesla has reported that it delivered almost a million vehicles in the year 2021, precisely 936,172 to be exact. The electric car company has already delivered over 620,000 in over 3 quarters in 2021, while it only delivered 500,000 vehicles in the whole of the 2020 financial year.

Tesla Delivers a Record Number of Vehicles in 4th Quarter

The automaker delivered 308,600 cars in the fourth quarter of 2021, increasing 241,300 from the third quarter. As expected the Model 3 and Y made the higher delivery with 296,850 and then 11,750 for the Model S and X.

Previously CEO Elon Musk, has told his Employees at Tesla that they should focus more on cost reduction than hasty quarterly deliveries. The World’s richest made the appeal in an internal memo sent out on November 26. The memo was obtained by CNBC.

According to the memo, Musk does not want Tesla “spending heavily on expedite fees, overtime and temporary contractors just so that cars arrive in Q4.”

Tesla’s 2021 third quarter has been a record period despite chip storage & supply chip storage. The electric car company recorded its best-ever net income, operating profit and gross profit.

Bloomberg says EVs accounts for 23% of total new sales, which shows there’s a strong push for electric vehicles. AM Online another research site mentions 2021 September sales makes about 74% of Tesla’s total third-quarter sales.

The third quarter had the most record vehicle production and deliveries. Tesla also rolled out its Full Self Driving city Beta to a wider population in the month of October. Although the company didn’t hit the one million mark, its recent achievement shows the demand for its electric cars globally.
