Reports from Electrek show that Tesla has been shipping some Model 3 and Model Y vehicles without USB charging ports. The reason behind this removal is the current global chip storage.

Parts like the USB and wireless charging are not shipping the newer Model Y and Model 3 electric vehicles. Car owners have voiced their displeasure about the missing internal parts on Reddit recently.

The USB type C is essential for charging gadgets on the go. Imagine a car made up of batteries and it can power small devices through USB. Tesla is also at fault for not informing its car buyers of the omission, Electrek says that Tesla would fix the USB ports and other missing hardware when they become available this December.

Reports from Electrek says that the Tesla iOS app allows owners to remotely stream live footage from their car cameras. This is based on the car’s Sentry mode, which uses its camera as a surveillance tool to record thieves and intruders.

Sentry Mode Live Camera Access

The latest version of the tesla iOS app now allows its owners to remotely watch a live scene of their car cameras.  Tesla’s “Sentry Mode Live Camera Access” feature is rolling out with the 2021.36.8 software update. Tesla says “You can now remotely view your car’s surroundings when parked to confirm the safety of your environment before returning to your car.” This new functionality isn’t available on Tesla’s android app for now.

Telsa has now become seriously affected by the chip shortage. Currently, it now ships its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles without USB C and wireless charging. The electric company was somewhat successful in averting it earlier by rewriting its software.
