Electric car maker Tesla is now rolling out its autopilot feature, Full Self-Driving (FSD), in beta form for users in North America. The feature is only available to owners who could afford the extra $15,000 payment.
Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta is now available to anyone in North America who requests it from the car screen, assuming you have bought this option.
Congrats to Tesla Autopilot/AI team on achieving a major milestone!

In August this year, the company had announced increasing the partialy-autonomous feature’s price to $12,000 from its former $9,000 price tag. Then, the next month, users saw another increment by $3,000.
Teased as an improvement on its former Enhanced Autopilot feature, FSD is touted to be able to drive successfully around towns while recognising stop signs and reacting to them. Yet, users are not advised to leave the control of their Tesla completely in the hands of the computer.
“Autopilot, Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability are intended for use with a fully attentive driver, who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment. While these features are designed to become more capable over time, the currently enabled features do not make the vehicle autonomous,” the car maker said in a support document.
Another noteworthy info about the feature is that it relies on Tesla Vision, which is a tech built on the power of eight strategically placed external cameras and a powerful vision processing algorithm. This setup replaces radar tech, which the company used to rely on before.
We expect to see reactions from people who bought Tesla Full Self-Driving feature and how it is working out for them, especially at night or in poorly-lit scenarios.
