Tesla CEO, Elon Musk Delivers 1000 Ventilators To Californian Hospitals

Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk has helped deliver 1,000 ventilators to Californian hospitals to help battle the novel coronavirus.

California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom announced the donation at a press conference.

“I told you a few days ago that [Musk] was likely to have 1,000 ventilators this week. They’ve arrived in Los Angeles… It was a heroic effort,” he had said.

Elon Musk had initially said Tesla could make ventilators from their factory. He also said he didn’t think there will be a shortage by the time his ventilators were ready. Ford and General Motors had also offered to step in in the eventuality of a shortage of ventilators.

These ventilators were not made by Tesla with Musk admitting that he shipped them from China, putting to bed speculations around the subject. In a tweet, he said China had an oversupply which he air-shipped.
