Nigerian superstar musician Tekno is out with a new single titled “Sudden”. The song which was produced by Spax highlights the sufferings of Nigerians especially in the face of a Coronavirus induced pandemic.
“The song uses an upbeat tempo to shed light on the current socio-economic situation, corruption and poverty in Nigeria,” reads a press release from the artist.
“The singer and songwriter talks about how ‘all of a Sudden,’ the prevalent situation has caused the majority of Nigerians to plunge deeper into poverty and suffering, with nothing to eat.”
Tekno oft described as a natural hitmaker has always been a socially conscious artist. His smashing hit “Rara” in 2017 elucidated the daily problems of the average Nigerian.

Tekno took a big break from music in 2018 as he battled a rare illness of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.
He lost his voice, could not carry a tune, and had to go through a surgery that meant an implantation of a metal on his chest and disassociation of his esophagus. The singer talked to veteran OAP Daddy Freeze about going broke and having to start from scratch again.
He returned to back to the music scenes in a August of 2019 with the song “Agege” where he featured Zlatan. The song quickly went viral after American Grammy Winning artiste Billie Eilish made a video of her playing the tune. Eilish went on to admit in an interview with Vanity fair that Tekno is her favorite artist.
Not slowing down, the followed with another banging hit “Skeletun”. He also featured in Beyoncé’s Lion King album.
Tekno had promised his fans he was going to be releasing new songs during this lockdown and quarantine and has so far kept to his words. “Sudden” a follow up to his song Kata which he released at the beginning of the last month of April.
