TD Africa Limited, Africa’s leading technology distribution company, executes empowerment disbursement for Wives of Junior Staff this week following the flagship event held in Victoria Island, Lagos earlier this year. This disbursement is part of the Herwakening Initiative; TD’s initiative to empower female entrepreneurs across Africa.
Speaking to a Pla4om correspondent, Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa, and the convener of the Herwakening Initiative. She reiterated the programme’s goal of efforts in securing the future and success of female entrepreneurs, their families, and the society at large.
“As the common saying goes, charity begins at home. While planning toward the growth and development of our beloved nation, we cannot afford to leave women behind. Otherwise, we’re going nowhere. TD Africa is passionate about women as can be seen in our staff composition, up to the executive level where we hold the fort.” she urged.
“Moreover,” she continued, “the key to success in any given community; including business organisations is cultivating a mutually beneficial relationship among stakeholders. Beyond the regular CSR, we want to fully embrace our immediate community as we work together towards building sustained development in Nigeria.”
The disbursement included cash, appliances such as generators and branded items. In addition, the women were provided with mentors among the staff of TD Africa; including MD Sales, Mrs Gozy Ijogun, CMD, Mrs Chioma Chimere, Head of HR at TD Africa, Mrs Ifeoma Chigbo-Ndukwe, Head at Tech Experience Centre (TEC), Chidalu Ekeh, Sales Executive, Winifred Ochulor, Branding Expert, Ms Olabisi Abodunrin and Mrs Chioma Ekeh herself. The mentor’s role was to help determine the business needs of each beneficiary, as well as to provide professional guidance towards the enterprise development.
Reacting to the Scheme, some of the recipients expressed their gratitude to the organisation for setting up the empowerment scheme. One Mrs Aderonke Adefusi was full of prayers and hearty thanks to the team for supporting her business.
“I want to appreciate the team who has put this together to enhance our businesses. Thank you so much. TD Africa will never know a better yesterday.” She prayed.
