Google Maps users are getting Plus Codes, a feature for easily sharing their location with others, even when they do not have an address or they are in a place that is difficult to locate.
According to a blog post announcing the feature, Google disclosed that about 2 billion people don’t have addresses. Among this number are those who live in locations that are difficult to find. In addition to this, you have likely found yourself at new locations and you find it difficult to describe to someone who is coming to pick you up. With the feature which Google calls Plus Codes, you can share your location without hassles.
Also, the search engine giants revealed that people using Android devices can start using it in Google Maps. To share your location with people using Plus Codes, all you have to do is follow the steps below:

— Open Google Maps and tap on the blue dot showing your location
— Then you get a Plus Code that you can share with any of your Contacts
— The Plus Code is an alphanumeric code that can be combined with a locality (for example: FWM8+V9, Ibadan, Nigeria)
Additionally, you can find a location’s Plus Code by tapping and holding the map to drop a pin at the location you want. Then you tap on the pin and you will find the type of Plus Code exemplified above.
This is an improvement on finding people because Google Maps users can search it on the app and also on Google Search engine as well. It is also useful as they are available even when one is offline. You can even print them on signposts and posters for businesses as well. Even in times of emergency, people can also share their locations in time to be found quickly.
To access the full functionalities of Google Maps, you may need to update the app.
