While countries and some cities are relaxing lockdown measures and letting some people return to work, it is still not safe enough yet for everyone to resume ‘business as usual’.
Also, the brief social distancing interval may have shown that some people are actually able to achieve more while working remotely. However, whatever the reason that makes you still part of those working from home; you will need the following tips.
— Never place your PC on a chair. Of course, while working, you prefer to put your laptop on a table or on your lap. But in various instances where you have to go do something else, you may place it on your sitting area. There is the danger of sitting on it by mistake if you do this quite often.
Also, another warning like this is that you should not sit on the table. Most times, physical damage to PCs is done by their owners’ carelessness.
— Take short regular breaks. While working at the office, regular conversations or even important ones means that you regularly look away from the screen of your computer. But when you are working from home, you may not get these important distractions.

This will increase strain on your eyes and put you more at the risk of eye damage. Thus, remember to look at something other than a display screen every half hour. Remember that taking a break to relax your eyes does not mean switching to using your smartphone for some time.
— Stretch at intervals as well. This is important because many people work from home in a cooped up position that they may term ‘cosy’. If you have been in one position for about an hour at a time, change positions and stand up to stretch your limbs as well.
It is also vital that you eat. Since there is no official break time while you work from home, set one for yourself.
— You may be one of those who prefer to work with music playing. Prolonged headphone or earphone use may not be healthy for your ears. Once in awhile, give it a break as well.
— Avoid spilling liquid around where you work. Eating where you work has never been a good habit, it is the same reason why companies have cafeterias. From electric shock to damaging electronics, the dangers of eating where you work abound.
When it is time for food or liquid breaks, use the opportunity to leave the front of your PC.
