Spotify is currently testing a TikTok kind of video feed for its beta iOS app. This will display full screen video clips as songs play in the background. Twitter User Chris Messina was the first to see this feature in testing.
In a tweet, he mentions that Spotify has added a fourth tab “Discover” which shows the video feed in testing. The Discover tab can be likened to Apple Music “Browse” tab but only for videos.
Initially first reported by TechCrunch, Spotify responded to the site enquiry about the feature that “At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience.”
“Some of those tests end up paving the way for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We don’t have any further news to share at this time.”

Spotify has launched a dedicated hub that shows the hottest soundtracks from Netflix most popular shows and Movies. This hub will also display behind the scene music production of these soundtracks and other extras.
Spotify declined to respond on when this feature in testing would have a global rollout. We are optimistic that if its testers have a good reception about it, the music streaming company would do justice. Everyone seems to be borrowing a leaf from TikTok books, Spotify now joins the likes of Instagram and Netflix.
