Sony DualSense Edge controller is coming next year at $199.99

PlayStation maker, Sony, is launching a new DualSense Edge Wireless Controller in January for $199.99 and touts it as a high performance gamer gadget.

The upcoming controller will feature removable analog thumbsticks, rear buttons, changeable stick caps, and multiple control profiles, making it fully customisable. There are spare stick modules, swappable black buttons that you can map any button.

Sony opens preorders on October 25 and you can opt to book the controller from the company’s website or retail sellers. The replaceable stick modules will cost $19.99 and the controller itself is fitted with adjustable trigger hair locks at the rear.

The carrying case will contain DualSense Edge Wireless Controller, USB braided cable, 2 standard caps, 2 high-dome caps, 2 low-dome caps, 2 half-dome back buttons, 2 lever back buttons, Connector housing, and Carrying case.

The news of the forthcoming Sony controller comes as Xbox announced a rival Elite 2 controller, which costs much lesser, starting at $149.99.  Also, Xbox’s offering is already available for order and its entire components costs $209.99, making it a better option for gamers who are trying to cut costs.

Xbox Elite 2 controllers come in variety of colours and offers customisable body parts too. So, you can work the body, back case, D-pad, bumpers, triggers, thumbsticks, and buttons to fit your gaming style or aesthetic.

“You can even choose between a cross-shaped or faceted D-pad and for the first time ever in Xbox Design Lab, color-customize the thumbstick base and ring,” Microsoft said in its blog post announcing the product.
