Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially when you don’t have a wedding planner and have to do all the running around by yourself.

Financial strain, the emotions, the time constraints once you’ve set the date, the pressure from family and friends can take a toll on your health if you are not careful.

While you go about ensuring all is set for your big day, there are simple things you can do to keep stress at bay.

So here are some tips on how you can do just that.

Meditate

Sounds a little ridiculous, but one of the best methods of relaxation is meditation. Meditation is healthy for the mind and body.

Delegate

Feel free to ask from help from close friends especially those in the bridal party such as the chief bridesmaid. Again even your parents and siblings will likely be happy to help you out.

Ask for help

If it’s financial stress you’re under, and you’re not sure how to pay the bills if you go ahead with the wedding, then shrink your budget.

Ask for help from your parents, friends, and family members if you can, or ask for a loan to get you by, but only if you can truly afford to pay it back. Otherwise you’re setting yourself up for a black hole of debt that you may not be able to break free from.

Book in and enjoy an hour to yourself, in silence, truly allowing yourself to wind down. Visit a spa, book for your facials, have your nails done. Your body will thank you for it.

Focus on your hobbies

Is it reading, sports, dancing? Spend some time NOT wedding planning! It can be overwhelming, so you need some time to focus on something else.

Find time for your partner

Remember to schedule time to hang out with your spouse-to-be but avoid wedding planning at the time! Focus on the two of you and your relationship, rather than the wedding or anything else that’s stressing you out.
