Shazam adds new feature to help find concerts near you

Shazam embraces the lifting of pandemic restrictions in several locations with a new feature that lets users find and buy tickets to concerts near them.

The new feature brings relevant concert details each time you search for a song on the app or Shazam it. It became available on 22 March 2022 and is accessible on the website as well.

In addition, users can also see the same information when they open the artist’s page. The details include dates, times, and locations of the sows, and when you tap on it, you get additional information and the ability to add events to your calendar.

These details do not fall out of the sky as Engadget reveals that artists have to provide the details by using Bandsintown For Artists — the discovery app that Shazam uses to run the new feature.

The feature is available for both iOS and Android users. According to its parent company, Apple Music, the new feature is in line with Shazam’s tradition.

Apple VP for Apple Music and Beats Oliver Schusser said, “Shazam has a long history of innovation in music discovery and connecting artists and fans. With the reemergence of live music, we’re excited to give Shazam users access to concerts and bring even more discoverability to artists.”

With over 200 million monthly users, this new feature will likely help artists reach more fans about their upcoming concerts, shows, and music festivals.
