Traffic can be a lot more bearable when you have something to munch on. But not all snacks are worthy of entering your body. You don’t want to gain unhealthy weight just by sitting in traffic, do you? So put down that sausage roll, toss those sugar cookies, and throw out those fizzy drinks, because here are seven healthy snacks to eat in traffic.
1. Nuts
Nuts are a protein-packed snack with unsaturated fats and fibre. They contain Omega 3 fatty acids. Different kinds of nuts can be bought in stores, by the roadside or even in traffic.

2. Corn
Corn can be enjoyed in multiple ways. You could have it boiled, roasted, or simply off the cob. You could even go ahead and get yourself some popcorn! But however you like it, you’ll be getting a dose of vitamin C, B vitamins and magnesium all in one snack!
3. Fruits
Fruits are packed with vitamins and minerals. They are tasty and also provide supplements that you might miss out on in your everyday meals. You could get apples, pears or even grapes and break the boredom by nourishing your body. You should go easy on them though because fruits are full of natural sugar.
4. Carrots
Carrots have a lot of fibre in them and other great nutritional values. They are great for when you find yourself wanting to eat simply because you’re bored. So, rather than fill that boredom with unhealthy snacks, munch on some crunchy carrots.
5. Protein bars
Whether peanut butter or almond, protein bars are healthy supplementary snacks for the road. But a lot of brands add a lot of sugar to theirs, so look for a protein bar full of natural ingredients that will give you the nutrients your body needs and wants, without the extra sugar.
6. Crackers
Crackers do not carry as much sugar and calories as other types of biscuits. They are complex carbs that are both tasty and fun to chew. You can get them in a variety of flavours, including salted and onion flavours.
7. Coconut chips
When you’re craving something sweet, grab some coconut chips. You can stick with plain chips, or go with other flavours from a variety of brands that step up the flavour.
