Fans have gone through the last tweets of late actress Regina King’s son Ian Alexander Jnr who died on Friday 21, 2021 by suicide.

In one of his last tweets, Ian Alexander who’s a DJ hinted at struggling with mental health, likening his brain to a scene from Spongebob.

“You know that episode of SpongeBob where they go inside his brain and it’s a bunch of mini spongebobs just losing their s–t…..yea that one really hits home,’ Ian tweeted five days before his death.

In another recent tweet, the DJ also shared some of his thoughts on using social media “I don’t think Instagram is healthy for me.”

King’s confirmed his death in an official statement sent to PEOPLE.

“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you,“ the statement read.

Ian was King’s only child, whom she shared with her ex-husband, record producer Ian Alexander Sr. Following in his father’s musical footsteps, Ian was a DJ.

Despite her success as an actor and director, King, 51 said at the time that Ian was her biggest source of pride. After separating from Ian’s father in 2007 after nine years of marriage, King admitted being a single parent wasn’t always easy, but that nothing is stronger than her love for her son.

Many actors and entertainers have since sent Regina King their condolences following her son’s death.
