See How To Use The Airtel TV That Recently Launched In Nigeria

Airtel TV launched in Nigeria on the 6th of January 2020 providing streaming services. This smartphone app is available on the Google PlayStore and the Apple Store. It works seamlessly on both Android OS and iOS.

 

The telecommunication company is headquartered in India. It operates in 18 countries spread across South Asia and Africa, and also in the Channel Islands. On Monday 6th January 2020, the Indian global company made the announcement of the TV app via its official Nigerian Twitter handle.

 

 

The product is offered by Airtel Africa and has already received one update on the 7th of January 2020. Contents are rated 12+ and parental guidance is required.

 

To download, users must have an Android smartphone operating on 4.4 OS or above. On the PlayStore, the size of the app for download is 30MB. See a screenshot of the download page.

The description of the app and usage conditions on the page reads:

 

“Airtel TV offers you unlimited access to the best TV channels and video-on-demand content from around the world. Airtel TV is available to only Airtel Africa subscribers. Subscription to the service comes at no cost to the user.”

 

Besides working only for Airtel users, it cannot be accessed using another network. For example, when using a Wi-Fi network that is not from Airtel, the app’s content cannot be accessed.

 

After successfully installing the app on your smart device, you are to provide the following details to start using Airtel TV:

  1. Your mobile number to verify and determine subscription detail for Airtel.
  2. Birthdate or age information to tailor content specifically for users.
  3. Name display in the profile inside the app.
  4. Email address to pass some information on product offers and support services.

Also, if you want to change profile details, access the profile from the menu tab from the top left corner of the screen. However, the contents on the app are not as rich as many viewers would like.

Users can access Nollywood and Bollywood movies as well as animated series and music videos. There is also access to live TV and sports series as well as sports channels.
